About WISHfest

WISHfest is UConn Waterbury’s flagship event in partnership with the City of Waterbury to advance our educational goals, enhance the college-to-workforce pipeline, and promote partnerships within the Waterbury community. The event is centered around the promotion of innovation, sustainability, and health. We welcome those from UConn and Waterbury Public Schools (WPS), along with the local community, businesses, and industries.

The Reed Fellowship

David and Joan Reed established the Reed Fellowship in 2014 with a $1M endowment to bring exceptional faculty from the Storrs campus to UConn Waterbury. The purpose of their generous gift was to enable the Reed Fellow to interact with students, faculty peers, and the larger Waterbury community.

In 2023, the use of the funds was reimagined to have a broader impact. A flagship event, WISHfest, was conceived for UConn Waterbury, in partnership with the City of Waterbury. More than 1,000 community members from UConn Waterbury, Waterbury Public Schools, and the community at large attend this annual event. Reed Fellows now play a vital role in this event.
